The Magnum Research Incorporated Desert Eagle, or the IMI Desert Eagle, known in-game as the DEagle 50, is a semi-automatic .50 AE Pistol added in the v0.3.5 "Downwards is the only way forwards" update on April 26, 2018.
Info
The DEagle is currently the only weapon to use .50 AE Ammunition. Like all pistols, the DEagle can be dual-wielded, but its rarity often limits this. Its most frequent spawn location is in the DEagle Case in the Mansion, at a 40/81 chance of spawning. There is also a 1/81 chance of spawning the Dual DEagle Case, which gives two DEagles. It can also very rarely spawn in other places as normal or ground loot. A DEagle also spawns in the HUD of the Commander when promoted in the 50v50 Ultimate Sacrifice Map.
Pros and Cons
Pros:
- High DPS
- First Shot Accuracy
- High Rate of Fire
Cons:
- Very Rare (Dual Deagles are even rarer)
- Rare Ammo
- High spread
- Is semi-automatic, requiring a high CPS to use effectively (N/A for mobile)
Strategies
Using
- The DEagle is best used as a precision weapon when wielding only one, as it deals high damage and has good accuracy. Dual DEagles will become even deadlier; it sports a much higher fire rate and DPS than the single DEagle at the expense of accuracy and reloading speed. Use Dual DEagles at mid-range to shut down enemies pressing with Assault Rifles, and use them at close-range for devastating shots that make short work of any player.
- Weaken the opponent with an SMG and finish them off with the DEagle.
- If a DEagle is picked up with little or no .50 AE ammo, know that finding more .50 AE ammo in the future is unlikely, unless a Wood Axe or Sledgehammer is carried to destroy Large Ammo Crates in Warehouses, which have a low chance to drop 21 .50 AE.
- Even so, Ammo Crates are not a reliable source of .50 AE, and this gun should be dropped unless the player has ammo.
- Try using this weapon like a DMR or Sniper Rifle; make every shot count and save rapid-fire for last-resort or close-quarters scenarios in bunkers and housing.
- This weapon is useful both as a close-range and a long-range weapon. It is accurate, but it's also fast-firing. Therefore, it can be used as a pseudo-DMR or a regular Pistol.
- Although it is fast-firing, the First-Shot Accuracy makes six shots from the original first shot less accurate when firing speeds are maxed.
- It should be used from medium to long-range to take advantage of its accuracy, but do not rely on it in close range.
- If possible, the DEagle should be fired while standing still, as the moving accuracy is over three times less accurate.
Countering
- Ammo can be hard to come by, so try to get the player to use it up as quickly as possible by strafing and hiding behind Obstacles.
- When fighting a DEagle user, take advantage of the DEagle's small magazine capacity by attacking them after missing several shots. Their kill potential is significantly reduced by not reloading. Fast action must be taken in this situation because the DEagle 50 reloads very quickly, though Dual DEagle 50s take longer.
- Shotguns (MP220, Saiga-12) and SMGs (Vector, MAC-10) are useful against this weapon especially in close ranges.

Trivia
- It is one of the two guns to only be available in an exclusive crate, excluding airdrop-only guns.
- It was the first weapon in the game to have First-shot accuracy.
- It is indicated by the gun's sprite and the icon on the crates in the Mansion that the DEagle is gold-plated. Gold-plated versions are available for every model of the Desert Eagle.
- The DEagle was previously named correctly as the "Desert Eagle". This was changed in the "Desert rain" update when it was renamed to "DEagle 50" due to copyright issues, as "Desert Eagle" is a trademark of Magnum Research Inc.
- This is the third weapon renamed due to copyright issues, the others being the M416 and the G18C.
- There was a bug where Dual DEagle Cases could spawn only a single DEagle 50. This issue was fixed quickly due to the rarity of the said crate.
- In real life, it was developed by Magnum Research Inc. (MRI) to be a pistol chambering the largest centerfire cartridge being produced since 2009 by the United States.
- In the Lore, this weapon was owned by Mikhail Nevelskoy, a wealthy arms dealer.
- Not counting the Flare Gun, the DEagle 50 is the only Pistol that does not spawn as a Dual from any form of Airdrop in the game.
- In real life, the DEagle is a inadequate pistol, with its low magazine size, huge size, and such a recoil that it could break your wrist if not used properly. However, due to the strength of survivrs, this is not a problem for them.
