Pros and Cons

Pros:

  • Great accuracy
  • Decent magazine size
  • High damage per magazine

Cons:

  • Slow fire rate
  • Long barrel

Strategies

Using

  • One of M39 EMR's key strengths is its accuracy. It is very effective at 8x and 15x scopes.
  • The M39 EMR can deal 540 damage without reloading, which makes it very useful against large groups of enemies.
  • Compared to other semi-automatics, the M39 has a relatively low fire rate, meaning you shouldn't just click as fast as possible. Try to keep up a steady rhythm of shots to maximize your damage.
  • Because the M39 EMR has a 20 round magazine and can shoot five times a second, it is better to shoot as much as possible instead of taking time to line up the perfect shot. You'll get more hits in the same amount of time, and the misses won't have a noticeable effect on your ammo supply.
  • Although the M39 EMR has a slow rate of fire, its high damage per shot means that it deals more damage per second than the MP5 or DP-28. Combined with its high accuracy, this means that the M39 EMR can outperform Assault Rifles at surprisingly close and mid ranges.

Countering

  • The M39 EMR does slightly more damage than Fists. It has the accuracy of a Sniper Rifle and the Mk 12 SPR meaning that the countering is similar to the SPR, and moving around with high Adrenaline usually prevents the bullets from hitting you.
  • The only people you what to be careful around are mobile players since they have fully automatic for semi-automatic guns.
  • If you are stuck in close range against an M39 EMR user, rush close to the enemy Player, and use any high DPS weapons like MAC-10 or dual G18C would be good.
  • Take cover behind obstacles, and carefully approach your enemy so that you won't take unnecessary damage.
  • Running towards a survivr in a zig-zag way can help a lot since it's harder to hit moving targets.

Trivia

  • The real-life M39 EMR is a more accurate, modernized, semi-automatic only version of the M14 battle rifle. It is essentially similar to the Mk 14 Enhanced Battle Rifle, but with no selective-fire capabilities. This is properly reflected in-game, as the user only shoots in semi-automatic.
  • Unlike the Mk 12 SPR, the M39 EMR's sprite does not have a bipod.
  • The M39 EMR was the first DMR added in the game and was one of the original weapons at the game's release.
  • The M39 EMR only needs one magazine to destroy an entire savannah stone.
