An example of a building on the normal map. (Shown: Crimson Ring Club)

Buildings are large structures with many different parts and major sources of loot in surviv.io. Unlike Obstacles, you can go inside them and find different varieties of loot, sometimes good or bad.

There are many different buildings in surviv.io: Barns, Red Houses, the Bank, Shacks, the Police Station, etc. Each building has its own unique properties and layout. Every building holds certain types of loot that are likely to be found in certain buildings. Any building, wall, or object that is made of metal will always cause bullets to ricochet, while shooting into a building made of another material, like wood, will cause the bullet to be absorbed. Some Buildings are destructible, such as the Greenhouse and the Teahouse.

The view scope for any user inside the building (except for the Crimson Ring Club pool, which is 4x even if you only have a 1x, or a scope higher than 4x, and the Extra Large Bridge, which doesn’t affect your Scope) is always the 1x default scope. It cannot be changed at any time inside the building parameters, meaning no one can outspot you and vice versa. Once a survivr has left the building, the view range resets to the scope they were equipping. The only buildings that do not follow this rule are the Extra Large Bridge and River Dock, both of which you can see as far as the scope you are equipped with.

There are currently 40 types of buildings in the game.

List of Buildings[]

Building Size Description
Silo Shack Small The Silo Shack is a building added in the Free Fryer update. The Silo Shack contains a brown Silo. When the Silo is destroyed, it spawns the Spud Gun.
Pavilion Small The Pavilion is a building added in the Hunt or be hunted update on April 11, 2019 (v0.7.5). There are two Vases in the top left and right corners, and the Shishigami no Kabuto in the middle. One of the vases will have a guaranteed Greencloak skin and a Military Backpack. There is the only Pavilion per game, and it spawns in the center of the Lake in the Woods Spring Map.
Pavilion Complex

(Unreleased)

Small The Pavilion Complex contains a few Cherry Trees, a Wood Barrel, and a special Pavilion. This Pavilion, unlike the above one, contains two normal Vases instead of special vases, and Tier Airdrop Ammo instead of the Shishigami no Kabuto.
Container Tiny Containers are dark rectangle boxes appearing all over the map. They generally have one or two items inside from Tier World - usually a Weapon and Ammo or basic items. Some shipping containers have a crack in the top of them, allowing you to peer inside and see if the loot has been taken. Shipping containers can have either one or two entrances. There are 4 types of shipping containers: Blue containers (1 way, 2 way, and cracked), red shipping containers (Have no opening and cannot be entered), Golden containers (Rare, spawns only at the Docks, contains the SV-98 and a 4-15x Scope), and grey containers that are the entrance to the Conch Bunker.
Outhouse Tiny Outhouses contain one Toilet, which can be smashed to reveal common loot. Some may contain used toilets, which give better loot. Amounts per world vary. Outhouses can be destroyed entirely. One special Outhouse is reddish, and its toilet contains the Fire Axe. It appears in Logging Complex rarely.
Shack Tiny Shacks have some loot on the inside, plus a crate and barrel against the wall. The amount per world varies. It's a great early game loot point as they can provide you with weapons or consumables. A good strategy is to break the wall facing the barrel and crate, then damage the barrel until its smoking (6 times). When someone tries to break the crate or enter the shack you can blow them up. One of the shacks holds a secret entrance to the Storm Bunker.
Green Shack Tiny Green Shacks are found at the Docks and in the River Town. It has only one item of loot in the middle. The walls can be destroyed, and there is a barrel next to the shack which easily destroys it.
Fisherman's Shack Tiny Fisherman's Shacks are located along rivers and the coast. It is a small shack with a Crab Trap on the outside, two Pots and a Table on the inside, and a small River Dock on the outside with an item. It was added to the Community collage update.
Hut Small Huts are one of the buildings added in the "Sun's out, gun's out" update. They are small and placed on the Ocean, away from the Island, and are connected by a bridge to the mainland. They look like a beach hut with a straw roof. They have small Pots inside containing items. Five spawn per map. One of them is the Golden Hut which contains a golden Pot in the middle that gives the SPAS-12. Another one is the Green Hut which has the green pot that gives the Scout Elite.
Egg Bunker Small The Egg Bunker is a secret underground room, with the entrance hidden under a triangle of Trees. One spawns per Map, and it consists of a staircase leading down to a door, which opens into a metal room containing a barrel and a Gold Bunker Crate. The crate always contains an AK-47, four The Initiative Skins, and several other random items. While the actual bunker is underground and does not appear on the Minimap, it can be found by searching the map for a triangle of equally spaced trees.
Bridges Small/Medium Bridges are various locations on the river to help players cross to other parts of the island. Due to the river having a different appearance every round, the number of bridges varies every round as well, including rounds where there are no bridges at all. Players cannot go under the bridge, but loot items can.
House Medium Houses contain a table, an oven, one toilet, and three cabinets. It also contains a decoration bush and a table where you can hide and ambush your foes (the table is recommended, as it is big and opaque).
Second Red House Medium Second Red Houses contain a round Table, a Toilet, a Drawer, a Stand, a Bookshelf, an Oven, a Fridge, and a Bush. The exterior is very similar to that of a normal house with the differences being a darker red roof, the doors being on the corners, and there is a grill on the outside porch.
Storm Bunker Medium The Storm Bunker is a medium-sized bunker hidden in a shack. One spawns every map. You can find a Hatchet Case or a Chest along with a Bunker Crate in the control room, partially blocked by two large Ammo Crates.
Bank Medium The Bank contains two Drawers, two Toilets, a Soda Machine, and the bank vault, which houses six vault containers with loot, as well as the skin Jester's Folly (Stone Hammer in Desert Map). There is only one per map if no Mansion or Police Station spawn. The Bank is split into two sections, one of which has the vault. They are split by breakable walls and windows.
Conch Bunker Medium The Conch Bunker is a bunker submerged in the sea. It was added in the Sun's out, guns out update. The entrances are disguised as two shipping containers on the beach (albeit black instead of blue). It contains 3 Crates, 1 Conch Crate, and 3 Lockers. This is the second sea-themed building, the other being the docks. It is one of the smallest bunkers.
Cabin Medium The Cabin is a building added in update v0.6.0. It has a green roof, a blue carpet, 3 pots, a stove, a toilet, a wall mount, a drawer, and a stand. It has a green roof and a chimney that has smoke coming out of it when people are inside until the stove is destroyed. It also has a green bed, a wood pile next to the stove, and a table, none of which drop loot.
Warehouse Large Warehouses contain two barrels, four ammo crates, and seven crates, the middle one of which has a rare chance of being a Soviet crate. There are 2 per game. Bullets bounce off the walls, and the barrels explode with enough force to cause great damage. The metal walls also rebound the explosion to magnify damage.
Barn Large Barns have five cabinets, a toilet, an oven, a table, and one storeroom, which has loot inside. There are usually 1-3 of them per map. Barns appear as a big, green-roofed house and can be used to start off a squad with decent weapons. There is also an oven to watch out for, as it's explosive. Remember that the walls of the storeroom are deflective and bullets will rebound off of it. One of the barns can be an Alternate Barn, which contains an underground instead of the safe room, and the underground room contains Dual G18C, a P30L, Smoke Grenades, and the Neo Noir skin. The underground room has also been known to drop Dual P30L instead of a single P30L.

The visiting area contains 2 bushes, one soda machine, and one crate. Only 1 Police station spawns per map, and sometimes it does not spawn at all.

Crossing Bunker Large The Crossing Bunker is the second-largest bunker in the game. It is one of the few buildings that do not always spawn in the game. It can only be found next to and underneath large rivers by locating a bluish-gray square on the map. It has four entrances and a golden locker which always contains a medium pack and an AK-47 with ammo. It also contains a control panel that opens up a small storage area containing a Wood Axe to clear the way for the fourth entrance, as it is initially blocked by Ammo Crates.

In the center, it has a small courtyard surrounded by glass with one tree and 4 bushes (one of them sometimes is a Lotus Flower) In the back it has 2 staircases, a broken one that would otherwise lead upstairs, and one that permits players to go downstairs. On the lower floor, there are 2 wooden loot barrels and one explosive barrel, 6 wall barrels (3 each side) that contain loot, one shelf, and one crate. There is also a direct entrance to this floor from the outside, and a loot barrel spawns there as well. In the upper right corner, a shack always spawns. The mansion does not always spawn in game.

It could only be accessed by going to a nearby tree stump, connected to it by a trail of blood, and selecting "Use" in the Halloween event, and by pressing three bloodied tree stumps in Woods Mode. When the player entered, he/she had to enter a code by selecting panels with bunker labels on the floor near them (This code was different between the Halloween Event and Woods Mode).
