7.62 millimeter, also known as 7.62mm (Blue) in the game, is a type of ammunition used by seven weapons. It is generally reserved for more rare and powerful rifles. The power of 7.62mm can be compared with the 5.56mm bullets.

Strategies

  • Although this type of ammo isn't the rarest, conserving ammo is still useful.
  • The DP-28 quickly diminishes this ammo, so be sure to stock up on a lot of it.

Trivia

  • All 7.62mm weapons shoot blue-colored tracers.
  • In-game, the 7.62mm weapons use a single ammunition type for simplicity's sake. In reality however, these weapons do not actually use the same ammunition. For example:
    • The AK-47 uses the 7.62×39mm cartridge, also known as the 7.62 Soviet round.
    • The DP-28 uses the 7.62×54mmR cartridge, also known as the 7.62 Russian, although this nickname is technically erroneous.
    • The SCAR-H and M39 EMR use the 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge.
    • The OT-38 uses the 7.62×42mm SP-4 subsonic cartridge.
    • The Mosin-Nagant uses the 7.62×54mmR cartridge, but some variants use the 7.62×53mmR Finnish cartridge (there's a difference).
    • The SV-98 primarily uses the 7.62×54mmR cartridge. However, variants chambered in 7.62×51mm NATO also exist.
    • The M1 Garand and BAR M1918 uses the .30-06 Springfield cartridge, which would be 7.62×63mm when translated to metric. Versions of the M1 Garand also use the 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge.
  • The 7.62mm casing is shown with a rim, indicating that it may have been modeled off of the 7.62×54mmR or 7.62×53mmR cartridge, as those are the only 7.62mm rimmed cartridges in the game.
  • Technically, in metric, the .308 Subsonic round would still be considered "7.62mm" as the .308 Winchester cartridge is almost identical to the 7.62×51mm NATO round.
